Following
two days of clouds and light rain, the sun will return for the weekend.
Summers are just the best in Aspen: not too hot and nicely cool at
night, and so much to see, hear and enjoy. This time of year there
is SO MUCH to do in Aspen! The Aspen Music Festival is into its final
two weeks, and there is music is all over town. Summer activities
abound, and people are enjoying being in the mountains. Our weather
continues to be just about perfect. Skies are blue, but there is
always a chance of an afternoon or evening shower; then things clear up
again by later evening.
We
are enjoying the wonderful classical music of the Aspen Music Festival,
with events and concerts just about every day overthe next two final weeks.
The activities of summer are into high gear all round us. How 'bout
a whitewater raft trip? Or, a gondola ride up to the top of Aspen
Mountain and lunch at the Sundeck Restaurant? Golf and Tennis?
A visit to the Aspen Historical Museum, or the local ghost towns of Ashcroft
or Independence? What a great time to be here!

WORLD CUP
SKI
RACING RETURNS!
World Cup alpine ski racing will stop
in Aspen for the Thanksgiving weekend next winter, according to the U.S.
Ski and Snowboard Association. The FIS Alpine World Cup tour
comes to Aspen on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29, with women's slalom and giant slalom
races during the Thanksgiving weekend.

We
welcome Frontier Airlines to Aspen!
Frontier
Airlines now offers 4 flights each day (5 flights planned for this
winter) between Aspen and Denver, and the rates are excellent. Frontier
serves over 60 cities from its hub in Denver.
United
continues to serve Aspen
United Airlines
continues its flights between Aspen and Denver, connecting to so many cities
from Denver. A summer direct flight will operate to Los Angeles as well.

from Salt Lake City!
Also, Delta

ASPEN'S
OWN OLYMPIAN COMPLETES ANOTHER WINTER RACE SEASON
Our
favorite Olympic Medalist Chris Klug brought his race season to a close
with two podium finishes in the US National Championships in Oregon in
late March. He ended up the season as the top NORAM racer once
again. Congratulations, Chris -you are the best! Chris still
has his sights set on the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC about 18
months away..
Chris
is back to training now for the winter ahead, starting on Mt. Hood in Oregon
in late July then moving to the ski areas of New Zealand in August.
The race season starts in October in Europe, and Chris will be there.
Watch for more World Cup snowboard racing this winter!
Chris,
we are so proud of you. Keep on racing, and keep on telling the world
about your liver transplant success!
Chris's
book, "On The Edge and Back" is now out and available through local
book stores or online with Amazon or Barnes and Noble. It
tells the story of early snowboarding, Chris's liver transplant in 2000
and his Olympic victory in 2002. The book is wonderful reading!

The market takes over two
streets on Saturday, with farmers market offerings, "goodies" of all kinds
and crafts. Each Saturday, it's always fun!

Pass. He sure was little, perhaps even "brand new."
FOUNTAIN FUN
One of the true highlights
of summer for kids is playing in the fountain in front of the Wheeler.
Getting wet is always a great kid attraction!
SUMMER IS UPON US!
We had more than our share
of winter this year, and all that amazing snow. Spring was slow in
coming, but the warm weather is with us now and summer is here.
We are planting flowers all over. Below is Aspen Square's new pool
area. What a great time to be in Aspen!
PARTY TIME!
Each Friday evening through
the summer we host owners and guests for a reception by the pool, with
god food, refreshments and even music. Two students from the Aspen
Music Festival provide the classical background music. It's always
a fun event!
FULL RIVERS
are
the "norm" around our valley, with the amazing above-average snowpack from
our snowy winter. The snow melt has increased significantly with
the warmer temps.
The whitewater rafting
is amazing!
HIKING, BIKING, JEEPING

There are so many ways to
enjoy the mountains around Aspen, and the views are amazing. Don't

THE POOL AT NIGHT
Our new Aspen Square pool
complex has been so much fun, even at night. We have a new pool,
two hot tubs, new water features, a fire pit and larger deck area.
Below is a fun night time picture of the hot tubs and pool.
Aspen Square's lobby, open
to welcome guests this season. We are just across the street from
the slopes of Aspen Mountain.
This is the kitchen of one
of our Fireplace Studio Suites, a great accommodation for two people.
It has a full kitchen, fireplace, living room seating area and an outside
deck. Very comfortable, very nice!
