This first weekend in July is offering a full slate of cultural events, including the opening concerts of the Aspen Music Festival, which is returning to the Benedict Music Tent for the first time since 2019. The opening recital with Matthew Whittacker is tonight and longtime favorite Aspen conductor Leonard Slatkin will lead the Aspen Chamber Symphony on Friday evening. In addition to the Music Festival, Theatre Aspen is offering performances of the beloved musical Chicago in its Hurst Theater in Rio Grande Park. And finally, the BellyUP Aspen is presenting an in-person show by the popular showman deadmau5 at 9pm tonight. Live concerts are back!
