One of the many unique things about summers in Aspen, is the wealth of opportunities to hear about current events and trends from the people most closely involved. The Aspen Institute is an integral part of bringing those people to our little town all summer. Currently, the Aspen Ideas Festival is underway, and next month, the McCloskey Speaker Series begins, and runs until early August. This year's series will include interviews and discussions with individuals in the thick of current events, including Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer (July 7), San Francisco Mayor Gil Garcetti (July 11), FBI Director Christopher Wray (July 18), former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright (July 31), and a panel of Democratic Governors (August 10).
