The Rotary Club of Aspen presents its annual fundraiser, the Ducky Derby, on Saturday, August 13 in Rio Grande Park. Now in its 25th year, the Ducky Derby is part carnival, silent auction, bouncy house for kids, all-day event and thrilling, but silly water race all in one. More than 30,000 adorable rubber ducks are released into the Roaring Fork River in downtown and the winner takes home a big cash prize. Proceeds help support Rotary's service projects in the valley including college scholarships for high school seniors and the Shining Stars and Holiday Baskets programs. Before Saturday, you can "adopt" a duck on the Cooper Avenue pedestrian mall across from Paradise Bakery. You can't miss the giant yellow inflatable duck! The Ducky Derby festivities begin at 10:30 am in Rio Grande Park.
