The 70th edition of Aspen's annual Wintersköl celebration begins on Thursday, January 14. Created to lift Aspenites out of January's winter doldrums, Wintersköl brightened everyone's mood with lighthearted events and activities. This year, in light of the ongoing pandemic, many of the usual on-mountain activities will be scaled back, but the spirit remains. Details will be posted on the Aspen Chamber Resort's website tomorrow, Wednesday, January 13. Today's Aspen Times noted that boxes of snow are being deposited on the mall for the annual Wintersculpt competition and we're looking forward to seeing what the snow artists create this year.
