One of the most iconic ski endurance races in the country, the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse, starts tomorrow night, March 27, at midnight in Crested Butte. Two-person teams ski through the Elk Mountain Range on a 40-mile race course, gaining 7,800 feet and arrive in Aspen the next day. Finishing times vary between eight and 16 hours. Wow!
