What can you do in a weekend in Aspen? We fill you in below. Discover activities and events you don’t want to miss when you visit Aspen in the winter, spring, summer, and fall.
Winter
Day 1 ―
Don’t Miss: Skiing Aspen Mountain
Aspen Mountain is located right across the street from the Aspen Square Condominium Hotel, so hopping on the Silver Queen Gondola is as easy as walking out the front door and turning left!
Day 2 ―
Don’t Miss: Ice Skating
Visit the Silver Circle Ice Rink at the base of Aspen Mountain in downtown Aspen for ice skating under the stars.
Spring
Day 1 ―
Don’t Miss: Spring Skiing & Mobile Champagne Bar
Enjoy skiing with mild spring temps and longer daylight hours! Also, check out Aspen Oasis ― a mobile champagne bar operated by The Little Nell. It moves around the mountain, so check The Little Nell’s social media channels for clues on the champagne bar’s current location.
Day 2 ―
Don’t Miss: Sunset Skiing
Select days in the spring, after daylight savings time kicks in, Aspen Mountain stays open until 6PM. Ski late and catch the sunset from the lifts in between runs.
Summer
Day 1 ―
Don’t Miss: Aspen Saturday Market
On Saturdays, don’t miss the Aspen Saturday Market just a couple blocks from Aspen Square. Check out locally grown produce and handmade goods. You’ll find cherries, peaches, flowers, greens, peppers, tomatoes, carrots, and more, mingling next to stands selling bikes, art, clothing, home decor, wine, cheese, honey, and jewelry.
Day 2 ―
Don’t Miss: Aspen Hiking Trails
Aspen has hiking trails that suit every level of hiker. Our concierge team will help you find the perfect hiking trail for you. Decide how far you want to hike, the hike difficulty, and then, hit the trail! For an easy hike, we recommend the East Aspen Trail to the Northstar Nature Preserve. For an intermediate hike, try the Smuggler Mountain Road or the Hunter Creek Loop. If you enjoy a challenging hike, ask our concierge for directions to the Ute Trail on Aspen Mountain.
Fall
Day 1 ―
Don’t Miss: Fall Colors
Seeing the aspen leaves change from green to gold is a breathtaking experience. Take a scenic drive up Independence Pass or visit the Maroon Bells and enjoy the show!
Day 2 ―
Don’t Miss: Fall Events
In the fall, Aspen enjoys a quieter ambiance compared to summer, but that doesn’t mean a thinner events calendar. Fall events in Aspen Snowmass and the Roaring Fork Valley include the Motherlode Volleyball Tournament, Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Festival, the Mac and Cheese Festival, Aspen Ruggerfest, The Meeting, Golden Leaf Half Marathon, Aspen Filmfest, and the Snowmass Wine and Balloon Festivals.
